
I’ve always enjoyed reading banter between characters in a book, and get excited when it’s done well. Those dialogue scenes are one of her biggest strengths. Sounds amazing! I’m pretty sure Amulet of Wishes needs to be in my Kindle, even if my TBR explodes. It is the first book in the Chronicles of The Guardians series, and features shape-shifting dragons, elves, ogres and daemons, along with lots of queer representation. Rita has published her debut book recently, called Amulet of Wishes. Here comes the Book Talk! Here Comes the Book Talk! Most people’s stick figures are even better than mine, and don’t even get me started on the little dude we used to play hangman. I only wish I had some of these original pictures, because I bet they’re adorable! My drawing ability is almost nil, so anyone who can draw amazes me. Rita used sketchbooks to draw various stories before she started writing. That’s a video game, so yeah, fanfiction is an amazing place to start!

For those of you wondering, I’ve actually heard this is a really fantastic way to start a writing journey, because you find yourself inspired by the most unique things. Rita started writing Avatar: The Last Airbender fanfiction and fanfiction for other fandoms for several years before she started writing her own original stories. Wow! I was a huge bookworm at that age, but I can’t imagine actually writing stories back then. Check out the other posts!
